  • Job Description



    GDIT is currently seeking an Information System Security Engineer for our Justice Department Programs in Quantico, VA. 



    • Performs vulnerability and compliance scans using approved security tools. Experience with Nessus, DB Protect, AppScanner are preferred but not required. Similar tools are acceptable.
    • Gathers and organizes technical information about an organization’s mission goals and needs, IT infrastructure and existing security/IA products. Assists in developing security solutions.
    • Responsibilities include working with the customer to minimize risks and assess and secure networks
      Configures, ships, and troubleshoots Taclane family of encryptors. Handles COMSEC. Tests functionality of new features. Works with endpoint POCs to minimize outages.
    • Gathers information in response to an incident or vulnerability and initiates protective and corrective measures. Performs traffic analysis and must be able to read and interpret a sampling of logging messages.





    • Must have a minimum of seven years’ experience, of which at least five years must be information security/Information Assurance (IA) experience.
    • Must have experience in security administration, evaluation of security/Information Assurance product capabilities, assessment and policy development.
    • Must have a solid understanding of federal information security/assurance policies, standards and regulations. Work environment is primarily Windows with some Linux servers and endpoints.
    • The job requires excellent analytical and communication skills as traffic analysis, technical troubleshooting, and remediation are essential elements to this position.
