General Dynamics Health Solutions is seeking an experienced Bioanalytical Research Scientist in support of the mission of the Experimental Therapeutics (ET) Branch of the Walter Reed Army Institute of Research (WRAIR). The mission of the Branch is to discover and develop new pharmaceutical agents to protect military members from death, disease, and injury. The Branch is the nation’s primary developer of new drugs to prevent and/or treat malaria and leishmaniasis. This position will support the Department of Drug Development in its mission to plan, coordinate, and execute basic and advanced research into the design, synthesis and development of novel chemical entities to inhibit, combat or otherwise treat specific biological threats to the warfighter. As part of this mission, the department also performs in vitro and in vivo preclinical studies on the absorption, distribution, metabolism, excretion, and toxicology of candidate antiparasitic and antibacterial drugs.
Responsibilities of this position include:
Masters Degree strongly preferred or PhD in chemisty
Minimally Bachelors Degree in a scientific discipline.
5-8 years of related experience in scientific research, analysis and/or engineering.
