Job Description

General Dynamics IT is currently looking for an experienced Project Manager to join our team to support the Medical Materiel Enterprise Standardization Offices in Fort Detrick, MD. 


You will have a key role utilizing your expert knowledge in delivering excellent Project Management support to our client.


Responsible for managing multiple tasks or a single large project and supervising up to 25 employees ' both exempt and non-exempt and may include one or more subordinate supervisors. Technical difficulty/complexity of assigned tasks/projects may also affect level selection. 

  • Provides project management oversight to team members working in the MMESOs for the identification, planning, progress, and updating of all Standardization Projects.
  • Responsible for the coordination of a multi-disciplinary team (GDIT employees and subcontractor leads) as well as the overall fiscal control of the project.
  • Ensures compliance with corporate decisions, guidance, laws, regulations, and policy in support of the project.
  • Monitors activities at the MMESOs, roll up activities and reports, and communicate to the DHA MEDLOG Division or any other entity as instructed by the DHA MEDLOG Division Director.
  • Provides information and briefings to Team Members working in the MMESOs to ensure that all MMESOs utilize common business practices to the greatest extent possible.
  • Documents instances where processes differ significantly from standardized practices and the reason(s) for variations.
  • Supervises assigned staff, including subordinate supervisors.
  • Attends all required customer meetings and may serve as primary client liaison.
  • Interacts with vendors, other agencies, and other client staff on behalf of the client.
  • Coordinates development, quality control, and submission of deliverables and products.
  • Communicates with functional area subject matter experts to meet customer requirements and to solve problems. Ensures communications follow protocol at all times throughout the project.
  • Participates in special projects as required.


  • A Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Management or other related technical discipline is required.
  • PMP certification a plus.


  • 5+ year’s minimum experience in project management.
  • Proficiency with presentation software, such as MS PowerPoint.
  • Computer proficiency required, including spreadsheets and databases.
  • Working knowledge and understanding of medical materiel and equipment standardization and medical treatment environments.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to present material to Government officials.
  • Ability to manage and ensure the successful completion of multiple tasks.
