Job Description

Database Administrator (L3)

Contract: Army G2 ARIES

Location: Mons, Belgium                                                                                                                                      

 

GENERAL SUMMARY: 

 

GDIT is seeking candidates to support the US Army G2.  Under the Army Intelligence Information Technology Environment Support (ARIES) task order, the G2 supports numerous Army organizations providing mission critical intelligence tailored to the needs of Army senior leaders throughout the globe.  The ability of these organizations to provide this needed intelligence is dependent on the availability and successful operation of their Information Technology (IT).  The ARIES contract provides IT repair, maintenance, operations, logistics, engineering and cybersecurity services to ensure secure, reliable, and uninterrupted availability of the organization’s IT systems.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

 

Database Administrator will:

  1. Maintain the integrity, security and availability of multiple databases
  2. Perform duties including disaster recovery, performance analysis and tuning, index maintenance, and monitoring of data
  3. Administer, maintain, develop and implement policies and procedures for ensuring the security and integrity of the database
  4. Evaluate and recommend available database management system (DBMS) products
  5. Perform database and software life-cycle activities to ensure highest level of system performance and availability and compliance with business requirements
  6. Perform Oracle, SQL Server, SYBASE, and other DBMS database and application server administration
  7. Organize and format data for efficient query and storage processes
  8. Perform all database administrator functions to include disaster recovery, performance analysis and tuning, index maintenance, and monitoring of data
  9. Coordinate and develop database backup, storage, and replication schemes across the customers’ enterprise. Develop policies and procedures for ensuring the security and integrity of the database(s)
  10. Direct the monitoring, administrating, and implementing performance on database systems as well as database performance optimization, developing/changing database indices, redesigning database structure and reloading data into a database

 

Desirable Skills / Experience:

  1. Coordinate database architecture changes with Database Engineer (DBE)s. Direct the installation of database management systems, databases, tables and views. Direct the administration and use of current and emerging database tools, strategies and technologies
  2. Create database structures and interfaces to meet customers’ requirements; develop, administer, maintain, and implement policies and procedures for ensuring the security and integrity of the database and performs database and software life-cycle activities to ensure highest level of system performance and availability as well as compliance with business requirements                                                                                                          

Certifications:  

  1. DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II Computing Environment (CE) Certification as determined by the Program Manager is required prior to support on contract
  2. Required Security Environment Certification: CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent
  3. Desired Computing Environment certifications: MS SQL Administrator certification or an Oracle database certification; SharePoint certification

 

Security Clearance:

TS/SCI required

 

Additional Qualifications:

  1. Candidates must be willing and able to attain a CI Polygraph for certain positions as determined by the contract
  2. Applicants must be able to deploy to potential hazardous duty locations due to mission requirements.
  3. Candidates must be able to maintain compliance with the standards of fitness requirements at all times throughout the period of performance of the task order

Education

High School Diploma/GED with 10 years of related experience, or Associate’s Degree with 8 years of experience, or Bachelor’s Degree with 6 years of experience, or Master’s Degree with 4 years of experience

Qualifications

5-8 years of related database analysis and/or administration experience
