Job Description

Responsible for a diverse range of information security technical, analytical projects, and activities which include: designing, developing, deploying, and testing the Agency’s information systems; analyzing the information security environment by identifying potential vulnerabilities; developing security measures to safeguard information. Designs and defines system architecture for new or existing computer systems.



1. Performs complex systems development and design work that may include logic design, I/O design, firmware development, model formulation, manufacturing and development cost projections, computer architecture analysis and design, and analog or digital systems engineering.


2. Performs systems modeling, simulation, and analysis.


3. Reviews completion and implementation of system additions and/or enhancements and makes recommendations to management and/or clients.


4. Plans and directs upgrades of operating systems and designs systems enhancements.


5. Develops documentation on new or existing systems.


6. Develops and directs tests to ensure systems meet documented user requirements.


7. Identifies, analyzes, and resolves system problems.


8. Provides system/equipment/specialized training and technical guidance.


9. Determines system specifications, input/output processes, and working parameters for hardware/software compatibility.


10. Provides guidance and work leadership to less-experienced systems engineers and may have supervisory responsibilities.


11. Serves as liaison with clients, participating in meetings to ensure client needs are met.


12. Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned.


13. Participates in special projects as required.










Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work/military experience.



  • Must possess a TS/SCI Full Scope Lifestyle polygraph clearance
  • Cyber-focused Generalist with expertise in Systems Engineering, Computer Network Defense technologies like Security Information Event Management (SIEM), Network & Host Intrusion Detection systems(NIDS/HIDS), Vulnerability Management, Threat Intelligence, malware detection & reverse engineering, Linux, Windows, C2S, AWS, FireEye, Tanium, McAfee HBSS suite, Tanium
  • Minumum 8-10 years of related systems engineering experience
  • Demonstrated knowledge and 5+ years hands-on experience with System Engineering Lifecycle, Project Management, and process methodology related to governance, management, engineering, and operations with experience in supporting project activities at engineering and operations review boards.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and minimum 8 years’ hands-on experience with IT infrastructure, which includes the following disciplines: network, storage, backup, platforms, middleware, application, monitoring, and security.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and minimum 5 years’ experience increasing architecture framework and associated artifacts.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in O&M and configuration management controls and use.
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Comprehensive working knowledge with similar tools like: ArcSight, ArcSight Use Case Development, IBM Network IDS, Snort, JIRA, ServiceNow, McAfee HBSS/IPS/DLP/ePO, FireEye, Encase, Encase Blacklight, Tanium, STIX/TAXII Threat Internet Feeds, PalAlto Wildfire, PaloAlto Panorama, AWS, Elk Stack, Splunk

Desired Skills:

  • Certifications CISSP, and other industry related certifications
  • Experience with scripting i.e. PowerShell
