Job Description

General Dynamics is looking for a Cybersecurity Engineer with knowledge of the DIACAP process to work in support of a US Government customer in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. The selected candidate will work as part of a team to maintain he accreditation status of four (2 unclassified, 2 classified) systems and one unclassified network connection by performing quarterly updates and audits necessary to produce multiple artifacts as required by the DIACAP or RMF processes. The candidate will review applicable Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) for applicability, interpret STIG checklist items, research remediation or mitigation, support testing, and work with the system administrators and application developers to ensure functionality. In addition this person will conduct the annual comprehensive security reviews, annual contingency plans and disaster recovery, support cyber inspections, and maintain supporting documentation for each system (JMHS, RITA, Netops COP).


Specific duties:

  • Maintain the accreditation status of the systems above in eMASS by performing quarterly updates or as needed, to update security controls, Plan of Actions and Milestones (POA&M), Risk Assessment Report (RAR), Certification and Accreditation (C&A) plan, and other artifacts as required by the DIACAP or RMF processes.
  • Review applicable Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) updates to identify updates that need to be addressed to maintain the accreditation status for both systems.
  • Interpret STIG checklist items and research appropriate remediation or mitigation for those items, test recommendations and work with the system administrators and application developers to ensure the recommendations do not break functionality.
  • Conduct the annual comprehensive security review effort to ensure that 1/3rd of the STIG checklists are revalidated, and that all documentation (policies, procedures, etc.) are kept up to date.
  • Conduct the annual contingency plan and disaster recovery review. Ensure results are documented and recommendations for updates are incorporated into the plans.
  • Support Cyber Security Inspections (CSI) by producing deliverables or evidence to demonstrate compliance with inspection requirements.
  • Create accreditation related documentation for the stand-alone developer workstations to support the migration to an accredited network.


Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, professional training or work experience.


5-8 years of related experience


Contract Requirements:


Clearance Level

  • Secret


One of the following:

  • Security+ CE
  • GIAC Security Essentials Certification (GSEC)
  • Security Certified Network Professional (SCNP)
  • System Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP)

And one of the following:

  • MCSA - Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator
  • Windows 10 - Configuring Windows 10 (70-697 or equivalent)
  • Windows 7 - Configuring Windows 7 (70-680 or equivalent)


Required Skills

  • 3+ Years of Experience with Windows Systems
  • Understanding of the Department of Defense Information Assurance Certification and Accreditation Process (DIACAP) and/or Risk Management Framework (RMF) packages
  • Excellent communications skills (written and oral)

Desired Skills

  • Knowledge of ITIL processes and ITIL Certification
  • Knowledge Management
  • RMF certification experience
