The system administrator will support the SAM process as expert in operational activities to include, but not limited to, collecting data from operational systems such as SCCM, AD, HBSS, Solarwinds or other tools. Data will be collected, standardized, prepared for ingest into the software asset repository, researching necessary patches and updates, developing documents, analyzes and troubleshoots system anomalies to ensure optimum and accurate performance, prepares system for operational use and oversees operational tests and supporting the SAM and the operational teams.
The ideal candidate will have software license management, SCCM, AD, Remedy and coding or scripting experience.
Responsibilities will include a variety of SYSAD and SAM function. Data standardization within the asset database, generating and providing reports, managing internal and external audits, working with the software asset team to design and document workflows, making appropriate recommendations that will positively impact operational effectiveness as well as initiating projects associated to software asset management governance and process. The systems administrator will be proficient in one or more SAM areas of software acquisition, compliance, maintenance renewals, and lifecycle planning and costing. Work with engineers, operators, managers and vendors to manage contracts and costs, software licensing, maintenance, and service offerings; collect update and report on information related to software compliance & inventory, licensing, harvesting and deployment strategies. Enter and maintain information in a database format to address management requirements to obtain information.
Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.
