As a systems engineer, performs design of server and application architectures, specific area of focus is Microsoft System Center 2012 (and above), Microsoft Exchange 2013 and Microsoft Active Directory. Performs the administrative operation and maintenance of server hardware and software. Maintains system security and executes practices and procedures, ensures compliance, monitors usage statistics and logs. Maintains baseline configurations and performs modification of configuration settings. Institutes troubleshooting and incident response procedures. Troubleshoots system related problems. Provides team leadership and guidance to less experienced administrators. Remains current in operating systems/software analysis and technological developments and applications. Recommends future direction or projects to management.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
ITIL v3 Foundation certification preferred
Knowledge and experience with Microsoft System Center 2012 and above
Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Exchange 2013
Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Active Directory
Competent to work at a high technical level on all phases of systems engineering activities
Good communication skills; shows tact, effective listening skills and follow through
Anticipates questions and is prepared with answers
Detail oriented and organized; able to understand information systems and ensure accuracy of work
Reviews the work of others and is able to detect errors or needed modifications
Provides technical guidance and leadership to engineers with less experience
1. Performs complex systems development and design work that may include logic design, I/O design, firmware development, model formulation, manufacturing and development cost projections, computer architecture analysis and design, and analog or digital systems engineering.
Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work/military experience.
8-10 years of related systems engineering experience.
