The Exercise Planner / Team Leader is responsible for the day-to-day oversight of the 86thth Training Division Exercise Support Team.
As the Team Leader: coordinates and executes specific team tasks and functions in coordination with the military Technical POC; provides leadership to and assists in tasks to design, plan, prepare, coordinate and execute, in support of the Training Division; responsible for tracking the on-time delivery of tasked products; and reports to the XTSAR Program Manager for company administrative requirements and operational task coordination..
As an Exercise Planner; conducts or oversees planning for all USARC directed exercise or training events tasked to the Training Division, performs exercise development tasks as necessary to complement team efforts to properly design, plan, prepare, coordinate and execute assigned exercises and training events; coordinates with Operational and Functional Commands for their participation and support.
Plans or participates, as directed, in Concept Development Conferences, Initial Planning Conferences, Mid Planning Conferences, Final Planning Conferences for Training Division assigned exercises. Prepares briefings and other required materials. During event execution may serve as a member of the EXCON Cell, Scenario Cell, or Observer/Trainer (Analyst Support) Cell, as required. Possesses basic knowledge and experience in Army operations and training. Knowledge includes an understanding of military doctrine, current tactics, techniques and procedures (TTPs) and force structure in order to incorporate training units into the exercise. Works in a highly intense information technology (IT) environment, and is required to maximize the use of Army Battle Command Systems (ABCS), other Battle Command Systems, training aids, devices, simulations and simulators (TADSS), mission specific digital systems/tools, and other available IT assets in the conduct of mission support.
Bachelors Degree in a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work/military experience.
Other job related qualifications specific to position: Retired active or National Guard officer or senior noncommissioned officer.
GDIT Requires: 8-10 years of directly related experience in the development and delivery of technical training programs.
Contract Requires: 8 years directly related training experience.
Advanced knowledge of the principles, methods, processes, and applicable regulations involved in supporting military operations; Advanced knowledge of relevant hardware, software, and other equipment as assigned. Some of these qualifications/competencies may include, but are not limited to: Scenarios and Operations Orders library development/sustainment; Exercise development (road to war, scenario, master events, operations orders w/ appropriate annexes, injects/scripting, etc); Exercise design and planning (continuous coordination with the Partner Unit); Exercise control design (control processes, role player requirements, control school, dynamic scripting during execution, etc); Simulation Models revision, development, and maintenance; Rehearsal design and product development; Exercise analysis (data collection, battle analysis, trend analysis, AAR development, etc); Exercise IT network systems and communications architecture design, establishment, maintenance; Exercise scheduling and coordination; and OC/T Academy curricula development and course sustainment. Microsoft Office Skills including PowerPoint, Word and Excel. Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance.
